I just took my ibook in for a repair insurance (bluetooth module not working and won't sleep without help) and they lined about £700 worth of work on it. So far, it's had about 2x it's purchase price worth of repair work performed on it- this brings it closer to 3x. 0_o

Also, I'm a wondering if you've tried Fedora 8 on it- I've heard of similar brightness control things being one of Fedoras 'just works' things.  :P</description>
